1970 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda
The 1970 HEMI powered Cuda is not only one of the most iconic Plymouth cars, but is also considered one of the best classic muscle cars of all times. Released in late 1969 with a brand new design of the Plymouth Barracuda platform. Bigger, wider and capable of handling Chrysler’s most powerful V8 engines this muscle car was built with one intention – to be a high performance version of the popular Cuda and to compete with the rest of the high revving best classic muscle cars on the market.
There are many interesting and very advanced for that time details all over the body of a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. The very wide deeply recessed grill with two round head lights divided in the middle and very thin bumper with a pair of driving lights gives the front end a very nice look. The tacked-in bumper and dual exhaust are a very nice touch at the rear end completing the unique long nose – short deck design.
The interior of the 1970 Plymouth Cuda is in the typical vintage style seen in all best classic muscle cars and the buyers could order a variety of extra options. The most important part of this vehicle of course is the mighty 426 cubic inch HEMI motor, which is the street version of the HEMI engines used in NASCAR races.
The bottom end of it is the basic Big Block V8, but the magic comes from the hemispherical cylinder heads with free flow design allowing free breathing of both the intake and the exhaust valve. The HEMI powered 1970 Barracuda produces 425 horsepower and 490 pounds of torque. A significant power, which combined with the gorgeous exterior design classify this Plymouth for one of the best classic muscle cars.
